Here at PelHeat we have been researching and experimenting with pellet fuels since 2006. Wood pellets are the market leader, however there are many other fuel pellets that can also be used. Biomass fuel pellets are the future of the fuel pellet and pellet stove market.

Since the start of the new millennium wood pellet stoves and boilers have started to be taken seriously as a heating solution. They were first invented during the 1970's during the oil crisis, however as oil prices returned to normal the appeal of the pellet stove fell away. However now higher oil and gas prices are back, for instance recently in the UK the price of gas has risen by 20%. Therefore wood pellet stoves and boilers provide a cheaper alternative to heat homes and businesses.

Wood is obviously the fuel source you will be familiar with, however there are many more biomass materials such as straws, grasses and energy crops which can make fuel pellets. However not all pellet stoves and boilers can use these fuels, therefore this guide will show you what to look for in a quality pellet stove burner.
