However now higher oil and gas prices are back, for instance recently in the UK the price of gas has risen by 20%. Therefore wood pellet stoves and boilers provide a cheaper alternative to heat homes and businesses.
Wood is obviously the fuel source you will be familiar with, however there are many more biomass materials such as straws, grasses and energy crops which can make fuel pellets.
